<stepDesc>DEM: Breaklines for hydrographic features are digitized from the intensity values of the lidar data along with imagery supplied by Pictometry. The hydrographic features, include water bodies &gt; 1 acre, wide rivers &gt;10m wide, and an artificial path representing the centerline of the wide rivers. Breaklines for bridge overpasses are also captured to eliminate bridge saddles due to point removal. Elevation values from the lidar data are conflated to the vertices of the features at 3ft intervals from the lidar data using QCoherent's LP360 software. Elevation values are conflated to the artificial paths at 3ft intervals with a downstream constraint algorithm. After the artificial paths are conflated, an lp360 tool is used to copy the elevation values from the artificial path to the surrounding double line stream polygons, which flattens the wide river from stream bank to stream bank. Elevation values for the water body polygons are added as an attribute to the feature class based on the minimum lidar elevation value within the water body. The Ground points (class 2) within a 2' buffer of waterbody and wideriver polygons are removed from the Ground class. The lidar Ground points and breakline feature classes are used to create a DEM with 10ft cell resolution. A hillshade is also created for the DEM using default ESRI illumination parameters.</stepDesc>
