Service Description:

This is a KyFromAbove Phase 2 LiDAR derivative product. Elevation data was collected between 2019 - 2024. To generateda 1st Return Digital Surface Model, laz files were downloaded locally from an S3 Bucket on AWS (https://kyfromabove.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/index.html#elevation/PointCloud/), converted to LAS files using LASZip. During conversion, a filter was set to keep return 1, keep first return only, drop withheld, and drop synthetic.

LAS files were loaded into LP360 as a single layer. Upon export to surface model, geotiffs were "cookie-cut" to tiles. A 100' buffered was applied prior to cutting into tiles to eliminate artifacts (blank corners). Phase 2 Hydro-enforced breaklines were enforced during the export process.

Artifacts:

Most of the processing artifacts occur in the Land Between the Lakes area (i.e., large water bodies). Another area of artifacts includes a few tiles in the Flourspar Area and will be addressed as time permits.
